Long Walks and Hauntedes

Friday/Irish Studies
We left the school around noon for a long and amazing hike. We walked around the backside of the mountain along the Burren way, then climbed for 7 miles only to find the most spectacular sublime view I have ever seen. It was too amazing- it seemed like something from a postcard or something wasn't real, but nonetheless, Ballyvaughan looked good. The sky was bright and clear, water was so still, white swans were swimming in the harbor, and flowers were blooming on the mountain top- it kind of makes you sick how perfect it was. After an exhausting uphill hike, we made our way down following an old pilgrimage trail to an old abandoned church along the beach. After exploring the church we jumped in the water at the beach, walked back along the main road (which was at least another 3 miles) and ended our journey at monks pub for some chips. such a good day!

Saturday/Sunday
Each year, Martina, the photo teacher, takes a group of students to Charleville Castle. It is one of the most haunted places in the world, and we were going to spend the night there! We arrived around 2 pm and had an entire 24 hours to explore the castle: ) Of corse, this being a school trip we were also required to do some sort of project while we were there. I did a performance around midnight in the ballroom, but the rest of the night was spent on the haunted stairway, in the dungeon, in one of the upstairs rooms, or the library. It was such an unbelievable experience. I took a lot of photos and hoped to catch a ghost, but i didnt have any luck: (
